Timberwolves lose Game 2 in embarrassing fashion — series tied 1-1 After pulling off a nice road upset in Game 1, the Wolves came back to earth hard on Wednesday night. The San Antonio Spurs demolished Minnesota by 38 points in what became the worst playoff loss in Timberwolves franchise history. Even star Anthony Edwards had warned his teammates not to let up, but the Spurs — led by Victor Wembanyama and De'Aaron Fox — weren't having it.
A note on Game 1: Wolves coach Chris Finch pointed out that at least four of Wembanyama's 12 blocks in Game 1 should have been called goaltending (meaning the ball was already on its way down when he swatted it — which is illegal). Still, the Wolves got the win that night, so the series is knotted at one game apiece heading into Game 3.
