Wembanyama Drops 39 Points as Spurs Take 2-1 Series Lead Over Timberwolves
Minnesota Teams
Timberwolves fall to Spurs in Game 3, 115-108 — Victor Wembanyama, the Spurs' 7-foot-3 phenom, put on a show Friday night with 39 points and 15 rebounds, giving San Antonio a 2-1 series lead over Minnesota. The Wolves are now in a hole and need to win Game 4 to even things back up. To make matters worse, Timberwolves coach Chris Finch got into it with referee Tony Brothers during the fourth quarter and called his behavior "completely unprofessional" — not a great night all around for Minnesota.
Vikings add a new wide receiver — Minnesota signed Jauan Jennings, a receiver recently released by the San Francisco 49ers, to a one-year deal worth up to $13 million. He joins a receiving corps already featuring star wideout Justin Jefferson, giving QB Sam Darnold another weapon heading into the 2026 season.

Taylor Heinicke hangs up his cleats — Quarterback Taylor Heinicke, beloved by Washington Commanders fans for his scrappy, never-say-die style, officially retired. He was never a superstar but won over fans with his heart and became a cult favorite during his time in D.C.
Breece Hall gets paid — New York Jets running back Breece Hall agreed to a big contract extension, making him one of the highest-paid running backs in the league. Hall had been playing on a one-year franchise tag (essentially a temporary deal), and now he's locked in long-term.
Aaron Rodgers keeps playing — The 42-year-old quarterback is expected to return to the Pittsburgh Steelers for the 2026 season, which would make him one of the oldest QBs in NFL history at 43 years old. Love him or hate him, the guy just won't quit.

Knicks on the verge of a sweep — New York beat Philadelphia 76ers again, taking a commanding 3-0 series lead. The Knicks have looked dominant in these playoffs and the road to the NBA Finals is starting to look pretty clear for them.
WNBA is back! — The league kicked off its 30th season this week, and Breanna Stewart (one of the best players in the game) made a statement with a dominant performance for the New York Liberty. It's shaping up to be an exciting year.
NBA Draft Lottery is Sunday — Teams that didn't make the playoffs will find out their draft position Sunday. The Miami Heat and Sacramento Kings are among the teams that have historically had the worst luck in the lottery — could their fortunes change?

MLB
Mets in trouble, might trade their ace — The New York Mets are having a rough year at 14-23 (that's a bad record — they've lost more than they've won), and there's buzz they might trade starting pitcher Freddy Peralta to cut their losses. At least one other National League team is reportedly interested.

NHL
Sabres vs. Canadiens, Game 2 — Buffalo and Montreal faced off in Game 2 of their playoff series Friday night. The NHL Draft Lottery has already been held, and the post-lottery mock drafts have Gavin McKenna going first overall — he's this year's top prospect to watch.

College Sports
March Madness is getting bigger — The NCAA officially voted to expand the men's and women's basketball tournaments from 68 teams to 76 teams, starting in 2027. That means more teams get a shot at the Big Dance, though not everyone is thrilled about the change.
College football scheduling is a mess — Because conferences keep expanding and reshuffling, some big-name matchups are getting canceled. Georgia vs. Florida State — the kind of game fans circle on their calendars — won't happen as previously planned. It's the ongoing chaos of college football realignment.

UFC drama this weekend — UFC 328 features a genuinely heated rivalry between fighters Khamzat Chimaev and Sean Strickland — and apparently the bad blood is real enough that Chimaev was reportedly waiting in a hotel lobby to confront him. This one should be intense.
LIV Golf in financial trouble — The Saudi-backed rival golf league LIV Golf is reportedly losing funding, and golf's biggest star Rory McIlroy weighed in, saying he'd welcome back players like Bryson DeChambeau and Jon Rahm to the PGA Tour — as long as they genuinely want to be there. The golf world remains divided on the whole saga.
